A nursing home located in Winston-Salem, NC reviewed July 31st, 2021. The reviewer states "This is a gorgeous campus, safe, friendly, and with good nursing care. The main building could be a bit more bug-free, but that's not my reason for giving it only 2 stars. I became a resident because Brookridge advertises itself as a Christ-centered Baptist home. In practice, it's neither. It is like all other non-church affiliated CCRCs. If you're looking for a Christ-centered environment in which to spend your final days, this is not the place. You, as a resident, will be told that talking about your "religion" (Christian beliefs) is not acceptable - and, indeed, you'll not be permitted to discuss your faith. If you wish to start a Bible study, you'll be told that "you can start one in your apartment" but that "Brookridge will not sponsor nor advertise it in their weekly calendar, newsletter, etc." Instead there are secular socials centered around alcohol, both on campus and various entertainment. The worship opportunities provided are liberal in approach. or off-campus. As a former resident, I feel that I should caution anyone looking for a Christian community with openness about one's faith and fellowship centered on Christ and Christian beliefs, that Brookridge is not the place. Although they are lovely, caring people, the current staff have no concept of what this means. If you're just looking for a good CCRC, Brookridge may be for you.".
A nursing home located in St. Joseph, MO reviewed July 27th, 2021. The reviewer states "Rude and uneducated staff or just plain don't care. Administrator also very rude and does not handle any questions well, or criticism. ".
A hospital located in Oak Ridge, TN reviewed July 26th, 2021. The reviewer states "My husband was discharged with an external defibrillator. Although he was clearly confused and anoxic, he was given instructions for use of it as well as discharge directions. I was told to pick him up at "back" of hospital. He was walked from the third floor of the hospital to the exit. He was carrying all of his equipment as well as the box in which to return defibrillator. He was extremely short of breath. His admission was for congestive heart failure. I was given no information nor was I asked to sign anything. 2 days later he suffered a cardiac arrest and 3+ weeks later is still in a much better hospital receiving excellent care. The EMS took him to Methodist. This would never had happened had any family member been present. If you care about someone never take them to Methodist.".
