Playful

by Michael Lee Johnson

Nothing
more playful
than a gray
moth dancing
—skeleton wings—
and a green-eyed
cat prancing
—paws swatting—
around a
lit kerosene
lamp
—shadow boxing—
& we all
had fun
in the
moonlight
