A Poetry Sporadical of Repeating Forms
It’s too late now to whine about the state
of things. Of course the kitchen tap will leak
if you don’t replace the washers. Time will grate
on matter like a bastard file. The state
of things isn’t steady. The drip in the attic won’t wait
until you turn the last page of War and Peace.
Next week’s too late. Don’t whine about the state
of things. Of course the kitchen tap still leaks.
