The Betrayal of Benedict Arnold

Benedict Arnold is
known as traitor but
I always thought that he
wasn’t that bad.

Treated quite shabbily
after his bravery
rescued America,
Arnold went mad.

Puritan-purity,
USA founders thought
people should worship
however they choose,

provided they're Protestants;
Thomas Paine's common sense
didn't extend to the
papists or Jews.

Dactylic downbeat, a
Lawrence Welk waltz and a
"One-un-a-two-uh", 'tis
Frying your brain?

Try not to stop the a-
Ccordian player from
Tapping a toe or he'll
Know you're insane!

;-}

Jerry Glenn Hartwig 01-13-2003 05:25 PM

Protestant-schmotestant
RosaRugosa gal
back on your soapbox
I see you again.

Isn't there anything
that you don't gripe about?
All of that beer must have
softened your brain.

*grin*

Screamingly-laughingly
Reading these sassy Ho-
Meric compressions I've
Captively sat.

Eratospherians:
Let me acknowledge your
Wordplay and wit with a
Tip of my hat.

RosaRugosa 01-14-2003 07:53 AM

Jerry Glenn Hartwig, you
follow my postings just
looking for something to
argue about.

Why so contrary? It
must be because my I
D is dactylic you
single me out.

Anyway, I've got to
stop writing dactyls be-
fore it becomes an ob-
sessive compulsion,

or all this bantering
leads to my Eratos-
pherian involun-
tary expulsion!

;)

Very contrary?
RosaRugosa I
feel only pity for
you and your plight

stuck in a boring job
nothing to do all day
seems like you'd want me to
pick a good fight http://www.ablemuse.com/erato/ubbhtml/smile.gif

Banished-or-vanished from
our dear Eratosphere?
This is what FunEx was
created for.

As for the monitors
tracking our progress here
they've got their pencils out
keeping the score.

Jerry Glenn Hartwig 01-14-2003 09:23 AM

Peepishly-sheepishly
RosaRugosa I'm
merely attracted to
women with wit.

and all the women I've
met in my city who've
tried to write poems wrote
nothing but garbage.

Witty-with-pity, your
tweaking is wreaking
sheer havoc with my
resolution to shut
up.

But I must get back to
work, though it's dull, and
and I'd rather have fun
trading verse with a cut-
up.
