For starters, let's stop this ''other language stuff''; IMO it's unnecessary, pretentious, divisive showing off, unless there is a specific point in using it - which I can't see here.

I feel as if I'm on playground duty...

Jim, I accept that you were jesting but it obviously hit a nerve with Annie, who possibly over-reacted. It's time to kiss and make up - or at least, move on!

Yes, Miss. Sorry, Miss. But we did do as you suggest, albeit pretentiously and in Irish. Sorry.

Now back to Brian's challenge...

Jim Hayes 10-27-2020 06:07 AM

Thanks Jayne, I was surprised (and delighted) to get Ann’s response as gaelge
and expressed my sorrow to her in the old tongue.

And so, if I may be so permitted, I shall say my fond farewell to this thread
Jim

All's well again :D

Sorry.....

Steamboat Bill, Jr? At 92 years old, possibly the oldest film we've had so far.

Mine from post #126 is still up for grabs, for any connoisseurs of the zombie movie genre.

It starts out quite small, just some goo,
Till it swallows a person, then two,
Then hundreds, all told,
But it shrinks from the cold!
Eureka! The monster is through!

Is this The (Roger)-Blob?

Roger Slater 10-27-2020 02:34 PM

Indeed.

I'll have to give in on the Zombies, Matt, but I reckon you've got Brian's bang to rights. I did have a guess at that (a wrong one) but I guessed in French (because Brian) and then felt my wrist stinging where Jayne had just slapped it, so I expunged my comment - plink! - just like that.
However, it reminded me that nobody got mine at #86, despite a couple of clues.
