I haven't even had the pleasure of having Alicia as a teacher, but I can attest to her crowd control skills. She managed to keep a bunch of old... um, us... in line at the meetings she organized here in Atlanta.
And she has much the same sense of humor in person as the one that features in a lot of her poems. Thank God. |
The only thing wrong with being on the faculty at West Chester is that it keeps you from attending workshops taught by the other faculty members! I've felt that each year, and will feel it this year again: what a delight it would be to attend a workshop taught by Alicia! And another by Charles Martin, and another by David Mason, and...I need to be at least sextuplets.
