That's because the PayPal option was only fixed last night, thanks to the initial approach of John to the organiser, June, who asked the webmistress of poetrypf, Anne, if we could use her good offices to facilitate such payments. Due to a misunderstanding, John then posted the poetrypf shop stocklist, which was not entirely helpful and I then took it upon myself to sort it all out. I am now retiring to a dark place with a double gin. Do your worst!

Yes. I misread a = as a #. I shall go back and correct it.

Brian Allgar 01-24-2013 06:58 AM

Ann, I feel I need at least a triple gin simply after reading your account of what happened.

Never mind--I've worked it all out after all. I think.

I've given up on drink and resorted to pulling my hair out. Thanks, John and Ann, your hard work is much appreciated. June

Accepting poetry of any style, on any subject, length 6 to 50 lines, blank lines included. Slightly longer poems will be accepted.

For poems of up to 40 lines.

I'm confused. Is it up to 40 lines or 50 lines? I know it's close to the deadline now, but I was thinking of sending in something this evening or tomorrow. Thanks.

PS - Never mind. I just sent it off.

Honest, Guv, I swear I had never seen that bit Brian posted. I didn't think it had anything to do with the Torriano Competition. But I've been trying to sort it out.

Perhaps, if you look up an outfit called Aquillrelle, the nature of their business and the bona fides of their competition will explain why they have such a relaxed attitude to their own rules. I will say no more.

I am sorry so many people have been so confused by all this. I am scared of muddying the water even further so, for now - please talk to the arse; the head's in a bucket.

Martin, as I said, I came across it on a site that gives an exhaustive list of poetry competitions. The one that I cited was nothing to do with Torriano. Sorry if I didn't make it clear.
