It's a beautiful poem, John. I wouldn't have understood the reference, and, for me, I suppose that might just be a bonus. The title works so well too. It's a kind of poem that makes me want to continue to write. Simple, yes, and wonderfully difficult. Like a lot of marriages, haha. I love how a simple verb tense shift from past to present makes all the difference. It's, impactful. Thanks for posting this.
