I'm going to forego voting, but I will mention that I review the book in which "Hardy" (by the Mystery Mastery Poet) appears in the forthcoming spring issue of the Hudson Review. This will be a big 55th anniversary issue and will include a cd of readings of poems that have appeared in the magazine over the years. I hope everyone will take a look (and a listen).

I've certainly enjoyed reading all these sonnets aloud and have liked them all for different reasons.
But my first, second, third and fourth choices would be: 1)Aftershocks 2)Millay's Child 3)Visions of the Serengeti 4)The Perfect Sonnet [This message has been edited by Don Kimball (edited March 24, 2003).] |
Charlemagne's Vision and Aftershocks, equal votes.

'Aftershocks'.

Another for "Aftershocks".

Charlemagne's Vision

I like them all, but my two favorites, and they're on equal footing, are:
Forty-Eight Singing Bird I meant to add that this entire thread is an incredible resource, and I admire the work posted. [This message has been edited by kday1 (edited March 25, 2003).] |
1. Aftershocks
2. Charlemagne's Vision 3. Homeric Simile |
I have enjoyed so many of these that it's hard to pick favorites, but I think I am most impressed by "Aftershocks," "Millay's Child," and "Phenomenon," in that order.
