Just heard on NPR that the talks are already faltering on account of disputes between rich and poor nations. Well, what did I tell you?

I keep remembering that decades ago, at a conference on the worldwide status of women, Bella Abzug, when asked if she expected any results, said that "Words spoken in public acquire moral power."
In other words, if people promise much, they may feel obliged to perform just a little. That's all I hope for here.
