Thank you Christine — and welcome here! Your comments have been full of poetic insight. You're in good company here : )

John, That Wordsworth poem always staggers me with its vision. Thanks for putting it in front of me again so that I can soak it in. It should be included in the packet of information that parents are sent home with.

John, Yes, so far I've been with him every day of his life (five days). I had a dream last night of him floating in what seemed to be outer space which is what prompted me to make my "Good News" announcement.
Though the fountain of youth may be a figment, a pipe dream, folly, there is sizable solace derived just from being in the company of a newborn.

Great news! As a fellow breech birthed, I commend his decision to join us.

Thanks, Jim, so kind of you to say so. I'm very glad of the happy accident that directed me here!

Jim. Lovely news. Congratulations.

Christine,
A big warm welcome to you! (I also joined here after a happy accident... and look where it led me!!! ;))

My latest Good News: Sarah-Jane and I met up during the Ledbury Poetry Festival earlier this month. We had a delightful afternoon tea, chatted non-stop, then saw the amazing Brian Bilston in the evening, with front row seats. (Do look him up if you're not familiar with his take on the world!)
The following day Sarah-Jane, my husband and I met at our hotel, went for coffee and then had a trawl around lovely Ledbury, especially the charity/thrift shops - yay! - where Sarah-Jane and I both bought some gorgeous dresses... and Pete bought a book :D

It was a fab weekend, all round, during which Pete and I went to an Indian restaurant and I had crocodile curry. Yes, really! It was delicious :)

Christine, I stumbled in her as well, but I acted like a drunk at first. Your style is much classier.

My film director sister, Barbie, whose recent wedding I wrote a poem/song about, has just been nominated for an International Emmy Award in the category of Sports Documentary for the film, Queen of Speed.

Just checked out her IMBD filmography. Impressive. Congratulations to the proud brother!

This past weekend we were able to drive up to Virginia Beach and visit with my son. He’s a Navy SEAL (he gets pissed when I tell people, but he isn’t here) and he showed us around his base at Little Creek where they do most of their training. It certainly isn’t the career I wanted for him and I fought him for years but had to finally give up. It was pleasant to see his pride in the work he wants to do as he pointed out different parts of the base. I’m very proud of him.

That does sound like good news, John. Good to hear it.
