[Ed,

Thanks, but the coupe de vanilla is entirely Roger et all's. It's a great idea for an anthology precisely because of the throngs of haters. This thing will strike a great blow for the form!]

(I just discovered Rick's villanelle - Rick, thanks for your instantaneous support!)

My only regret about the anthology is that Susan McLean's wonderful "The Best Disguise" is not in there. This is one my two
favorite villanelles written in my lifetime. The other is Rhina's "Song"
(which is included).

(Excuse odd line spacing. I'm not trying to write blank verse!)

Gail, I did submit that villanelle, but the editors preferred my villanizio (perhaps because it was so unusual).

There's certainly much to admire about Susan's 'Deep Cover,' but here's a vote for 'The Demon Lovers,' Janice Soderling's 'The Death of Sardanapalus' and 'Valley Villanelle' by Grahame Davies. I think I'm going to start a bootleg book of villanelles to sit next to this anthology, which I'm keenly anticipating.

Roger & others, kudos. Is there a web-posting about the publication where we can keep up with contents, contributors, sources for purchase?
