"King of pricks" is possibly a better translation (though being a prick is not the same as being bloody stupid), but if I needed to sing the song, I'd much prefer "king of shame" with its long vowel. Just sayin'.

Brian, ha, thanks. I didn't intend to comment on my own song, but then thought it would be a bit obvious I wrote it if I commented on all the others, and then I couldn't resist weighing in on the cons question.

Kyle, yes, the ix sound is a bit disharmonious, and I did choose blame/shame partly because it just sounded good to me. I justified it partly because it seems to me Zazie made similar decisions, choosing phrases that sounded good without necessarily being deeply meaningful. But that's probably a bad attitude for a translator.
