Bob, too funny!--it's a wonder how you manage to be so screwy and so reasonable at once.

[Note: deleted squib for further tweaks]

Thanks, T. I think I'll drop S2, though, if I don't drop the whole thing.

Yours is fun, too, and I don't even miss the rhinoceros rhyme. Not sure I get the last line. Do you mean something more like "Believe me, you don't want him grumpy!"

Marion Shore 06-10-2009 10:08 AM

Bob!

"das Wasser ist"!!:D

Almost as good as "Bras-R-Us"!

You get the Silly Rhyme Award, fer sher.

Roger Slater 06-10-2009 10:17 AM

Thanks, Marion. Deadline is tomorrow. Have you entered our collaboration yet? Or was I supposed to do it?

Marion Shore 06-10-2009 10:31 AM

Whenever you see a rhinoceros
who asks 'Would it be too preposterous
to come up with a rhyme
for a name such as mine?'
reassure him that anything's posserus.

Roger Slater 06-10-2009 10:33 AM

Some words don't need to be defined.
  It doesn't take a glossarist
to tell you what you're looking at
  whenever you see a rhinoceros.

Bob,
I'm was going to submit them today, including our gem. But you can have the honor, if you wish.

Roger Slater 06-10-2009 10:40 AM

No, you do it. That way if it doesn't win I can just tell myself that you must have messed up (since there's no other explanation).

OK, cribbing from my own earlier ditties, I've written this one to enter:

There's Eros In Rhinoceros

Whenever you see a rhinoceros,
you'll find they're fat and nasty,
big-nosed and in desperate need
    of major rhinoplasty,

yet eros is inside their name.
I guess that shows what I know.
There's nothing less erotic than
    a fat and nasty rhino.

Marion Shore 06-10-2009 12:14 PM

Whenever you see a rhinoceros
be prepared for some good conversation;
for these beasts can be brilliant philosophous,
despite their uncouth reputation.

I can't stop!
