Longish story at Ear Hustler

I am awfully pleased to have a longish story at Ear Hustler.

This is a writer-friendly venue and I am grateful for the editing suggestions from Graham and Katie whose site it is. Such generosity is worth the editors' weight in gold.

I also want to especially thank Dee, aka Elle, who read this in an earlier version and encouraged me. This story slept in my files for many years. I took it up now and then, put something in, took something else out, and was so close to it that I had grown blind to its faults.

I hope some will read and enjoy. Not only my story, of course, but the others as well. Especially the story that captured the Golden Hustler Prize--I think it is SO good.

The Golden Hustler Prize -- what a great name for an award! That's better than the Golden Fleece. Congrats, Janice.

Janice - that's amazing! And WOW - I didn't know you'd won a first prize at Glimmer Train! I'd love to read THAT story, too!! Great going, Janice!!

Hold all the presses. It wasn't ME that won the Golden Hustler Award, I just am hustling for the Hustler.

But I do have a story there and I think it is a really good journal and the editors are writer-friendly. So fiction writers have a look-see.

Ahem, as of the moment of this posting, there are a few typos in the text--MEA CULPA--but they will be fixed shortly.

Cally, it was a long time ago, before I joined the Sphere actually, but the HMs are more recent. I guess that means I am going downhill. :D

I also got my first acceptance in a New Zealand pub yesterday, which is cool because it also is fiction. I am leaving poetry for a while and concentrating on fiction. And scripts. And translations. No more Ms. Nasty on the poetry boards. HA!

Such great news, Janice! You're so multi-talented! :D

Oh, thank you Steve, Cathy and Katie, you are melting the deep snow outside.

(Katie, I wish it were true, I wish!)

Congratulations, Janice! It is a (temporary, I hope?) loss for the poetry boards, though.

A beautiful piece of work, Janice. There's nothing to beat finely judged naturalism - it's a highly sophisticated art, of which you are a highly sophisticated practitioner.

Congratulations, Janice. I look forward to reading it.
