MMeriam in Poetry Northeast

Mary has three lovely poems in the first issue of Poetry Northeast. I know it is terrible to have a favorite, but I do -- "The Mother's Buttons."

'Beginning with a Line from Paradise Lost' for me, but you're in classic form throughout, Mary. Congrats!

Best,

Ed

Great going, Mary. Congrats!

Maryann Corbett 06-25-2012 11:08 AM

I think all three of them are riveting. And what a great-looking journal!

Heavens above, what a Monday I am having! What a wonderful surprise. Thanks so much, Marcia. And thanks everyone for all your kind words. I'm completely thrilled to be in Poetry Northeast, and to have been invited there too!

Lance Levens 06-25-2012 12:46 PM

Good news, Mary!

Charlotte Innes 06-25-2012 03:12 PM

Congrats, Mary!!!!

And I just saw on Facebook that your poem, "Three Crowns of Misfortune" was accepted by American Arts Quarterly! (I don't think I saw that mentioned here.)

I raise my cup of tea to you!

Charlotte

Mary Meriam 06-25-2012 03:50 PM

That is true, Charlotte. And as if all that wasn't enough, this morning in snail mail, "Avifauna" was accepted at Light for print and their CD, and I got checks for $60 for poems in journals. When it rains, it pours!

Charlotte Innes 06-25-2012 04:43 PM

Holy moly!

Siham Karami 06-26-2012 03:43 AM

Mary, you're on a roll! A much-deserved one too.

In awe,
Siham

Janice D. Soderling 06-26-2012 07:55 AM

Hey Mary, May it continue to pour! ;)

Katie Hoerth 06-26-2012 10:03 AM

Wow Mary! Such wonderful news -- congrats on all the successes. You certainly deserve it. I really enjoyed reading "The Seven Crowns of Misfortune." Yes, here's to more!

Mary Meriam 06-27-2012 08:37 AM

Thanks again, everyone. One doesn't have Monday mornings like that very often! Slowing reading Poetry Northeast, and very impressed by Melissa Green's poem.

Andrew Frisardi 06-28-2012 02:04 AM

Congratulations, Mary! All three pieces are powerful. About Poetry Northeast, I can't find any info. even at their site -- the "about" link comes up blank. Who's editing it and where? It's a good-looking e-zine.

I was wondering about this as well. The 'about' and 'submit' links at the top don't work. Anyone know who the editors are, and how to submit?

And congrats to Mary on the recent string of acceptances!

Thanks,
Nausheen

At the bottom of the page of Poetry Northeast, there is a small print link that looks like this

(c) 2012 the authors and The Pen& Anvil Press | Email the editors

(I have disabled the link in this Eratosphere post.)

A click on the first (on the original page) will take you to this the site for Pen & Anvil. A click on the second will give you another broken link.

P&A which is the organization that published the defunct Sixty-Six Sonnets and Hawk and Whippoorwill

Members can access eratosphericals and learn more http://www.ablemuse.com/erato/showth...ghlight=janice

This in no way detracts from Mary's fine work or that she has found a pleasing showcase. Nor should it be interpreted as an insinuation that Poetry Northeast will not have a long and healthy run. I wish it all good fortune.

ChrisGeorge 07-04-2012 07:23 PM

Well done, Mary.

Cheers
