Poetry magazine

I've been constantly busy and a bit out of the loop here (though I suppose I was never really in it, or only really in it in some of the non-workshop forums), but I have three poems in the current Poetry and I feel inclined to shout from the various rooftops about it: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/toc/2444. I hope you don't mind.

Wow! Definitely worth shouting from the rooftops -- congrats!

Congratulations, Rory. It is not an easy journal for anyone with formal tendencies to appear in.

Worth shouting from all available rooftops. Congratulations, and I especially like "Over the Heath" for the way it disguises heptameter lines as stanzas.

I'm always impressed when UK people get into that mag, and having 3 poems there is big news indeed.

In the same issue Todd Swift's essay/review provides what seems to me to be a fair description of how things are over here, though I still can't see why Helen Mort should attract more attention than, say, Rory.

Good show, Rory! What a tough nut to crack, and you did it beautifully.

John Whitworth 10-02-2014 01:48 PM

Jolly well done, Rory.

Rory Waterman 10-02-2014 02:28 PM

Thanks a lot, folks! I actually think Todd Swift's review is full of daft generalisations about England and English poetry, without ever getting to grips with anything firmly, but he does at least point generally in the direction of some good stuff.

Charlotte Innes 10-02-2014 07:01 PM

Bravo, Rory! I haven't read them yet, but I certainly will.

Congrats, enjoyed.

Rory Waterman 10-07-2014 04:36 PM

Thank you, everyone. I don't post here much these days, for one reason or another, but I do look in frequently, and with real enjoyment. It's a special (virtual) place.

Nicholas F. 10-09-2014 11:49 PM

I always knew you were an artist, Rory. All that time studying Durer has paid off. Finally.

Alex Pepple 10-26-2014 12:23 AM

Congrats, Rory!
