Atavic Poetry with Siham Karami

Oh the blatant self-promotion of it all! But it's also promotion of a great poetry site, Atavic Poetry.

Where my poem, "Adagio" appears (workshopped here!).
And more of my poems will be published there on Oct. 30 and Nov. 10. So I'm very excited about this fantastic venue which has previously featured other Sphereians, ones I'm honored to be with.

Self-promote away. If we can't celebrate our successes, life gets a lot duller. Congrats, and yes, Atavic looks good and has a lot of potential.

"The long undoing overdue." Lovely.

Best,

Ed

Congratulations, Siham! I see from the contributors list that there are quite a few Spherians in there :).

"the speed of sleep your only clue"

I love the word adagio.

Brava!--Siham.

Thanks so much, Maryann, Ed, Cathy, and Nemo!
Yes the contributors list is an impressive Spherian showing. Glad you like it, Ed! And thanks, Nemo, for your help in revising this when I posted it a fairly long while back.

Ann Drysdale 10-09-2014 08:47 AM

Beautiful work. I look forward to more.

Siham Karami 10-09-2014 09:45 AM

Thank you so much, Janice, Marcia, and Ann!
The site is a little unique in how it showcases the poetry rather than putting out print-like issues, so I'm happy on many levels.

Martin Elster 10-09-2014 06:53 PM

Excellent, Siham! Congrats!

I like the polyptoton in the last line: “undoing overdue.”

Jean L. Kreiling 10-09-2014 08:38 PM

Really lovely, Siham--graceful and haunting. And a great venue, which I'll explore some more.

Charlotte Innes 10-10-2014 03:03 AM

Beautiful, Siham! I agree with others--the last line is lovely. And you're in some good company too.

Enjoyed your poem, very lyrical, it's a great ezine, the way it incorporates video and visuals is exciting, most ezines leave me cold but this one looks like a winner.
best wishes
Ross

Martin, Jean, Charlotte, Nick, and Ross,

Thanks so much for your kind words! Martin, I can always count on you to stretch my sketchy vocabulary. Let's hear it for the polyptoton! Jean, this means a lot from you. I'm sure you can have your pick of venues with your fine work! Charlotte, yes, the place is loaded with talent -- I'm lucky to be there! Nick, you made my day. So glad you liked the poem and the placement, Ross.

Best,
Siham

What the poem says is important, and how it says it is cool. Congrats, Siham!

Siham Karami 10-16-2014 11:23 AM

Thanks, Susan and Terese!
