Beagle Sonnets

My new book, Sonnets from the Voyage of the Beagle, is now available from Dos Madres Press. Ten of the 123 sonnets got the workout here, and your critique helped me set a course for the rest. It will be available on Amazon shortly, but I would deal through Dos Madres. Support a small press for poetry!

See here.

[Note--as I do in the Author's Note in the book: I use Darwin's spelling of proper nouns in cases (such as Sacramiento) where contemporary spelling has strayed or evolved.]

Tracey Gratch 11-24-2014 10:58 AM

Congratulations, Rick! The Beagle goes to the top of my "to buy" list. Looking forward to this one!

Best,

Tracey

Thanks Tracey--

I have blurbs from two Eratosphere members, whom I would like to thank:
Rhina Espaillat and Timothy Murphy.

The third is not a member of our society, though he is a Nobel Prize-winning poet. The prize is for Chemistry (1981), but Roald Hoffmann has seven volumes of verse published by various university presses.

Thanks Rhina, Tim, and Roald!

Congratulation Rick. I think getting a book published that also enlists the collaboration and support of folks you enjoy rubbing shoulders w/ makes it all the more special. Would seem to me.

I left you a message in General Talk about your pm's being full.

Jeanne

Picked up a copy from the man himself on Sunday, and thus far it is louwbre.

Susan McLean 12-08-2014 01:48 PM

Congratulations, Rick. Bringing poetry, history, world travel, and science together is a good way to reach people who might not otherwise be interested in poetry.

Susan

Rick Mullin 12-23-2014 01:36 PM

Thanks Susan and Quincy.

And bumping to direct to a taste at E-Verse Radio today. "Christmas Eve" from the New Zealand section.
