A Message from Angle

Dearly beloved,

Angle is currently taking a break from publication and is not therefore accepting submissions. Future plans are uncertain. However, one should never say never, whatever …

In the meantime, please enjoy the veritable cornucopia of archive material available on the site.

Many thanks to our contributors, guest editors and reviewers.

I hope you stick with it--it's a wonderful journal.

I also know that such journals can suck the life out of their editors.

I'm sorry, Annie. Hope you come back.

I'm sorry to hear it. I had never managed to submit within the rather short deadline, which came and went while I was busy at work and not keeping an eye on it. This year I was watching like a hawk for it and wondering when it would open. So you have at least put my mind at ease one way, though I do understand about the burdens of editing a journal.

Count me too as very sorry to hear this news and hoping for the editors' recovery of spirit.

Ann,

Yes, editors need and deserve some rest. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your beautiful journal.

If you are able to resume publication in the future, I will rejoice. In any case, I cherish the archive.

Oh Ann, eat three Shredded Wheat or something. We need you!!!

Rob Wright 02-26-2017 07:34 AM

I'm sorry to see that this beautiful (and form friendly) magazine will not publish this year. As well as their support, the editors have given me real pleasure with their selection of poems and introduced me to poets I was unfamiliar with. Bless you all.

I'm grateful for the excellent choices you've made in publishing the work of our many friends and colleagues, and my own work as well.

It's a huge amount of work, hard on the eyes and the back, and though it may seem thankless, you've all been aces, PQ, AD, and JK.

You've been bold, brave, and smartly selective. May your bodies and minds find rest and strength for however long you need!

My grateful thanks to all who have posted here. Your understanding is precious. I have shared it with my colleagues on the journal, wherein, who knows, we may yet meet again.

I've sometimes thought I should go through past issues of Angle and copy out a personal anthology of favorites among the hundreds and hundreds of fine poems, and perhaps I'll do that now. As for myself, I hope that you and the other Anglers have a good long dawdle. Thank you.

Best,

Ed
