Poem: Drawing a House
Can anyone remember a poem of mine called Drawing a House'?
It contained these lines; And on the roof a chimney high Where smoke goes doodling to the sky I know I wrote it but I cant find it. |
Jayne told you how to search for lost poems, John. Can you find her instructions?
|
It's in Being the Bad Guy.
|
Aha! And therein it's called "Making Our House". (Thanks, Orwn)
|
Thank you very much both of you. I have entered it, with necessary emendations, for the latest Oldie Comp called 'The Window' which you will know about when Jayne gets round to posting it.
16 lines, you know. |
Dammit, John! You mean Jayne gives you a head start? ("Only joking", Jayne.)
|
Oo-er... am I late with The Oldie results and the next comp???
Profuse apologies if that's the case... the magazine hasn't popped through my letterbox... I'll have to ring them and see what's happened to my latest copy as I'm a subscriber, and pop into Waitrose to see if I can pick one up there. Jayne |

It contained these lines; And on the roof a chimney high Where smoke goes doodling to the sky If it is ever found I would love to read it John. I find the title and the remembered lines intriguing. Please lead me to it... |
