It's from the new book that will be out next month from Johns Hopkins U Press; I tweeted about it a couple of days ago @amjuster.

It’s a tour de force. All kudos, Charles!! Thanks for posting, Sam.

That’s quite a poem. Intriguing and engaging. Thanks, Sam, for posting it.

Mike, What is the title of the book and when will it be available?

Ann Drysdale 02-08-2018 05:14 AM

Is this not a classic case of an Accomplished Member announcement of the most extreme worthiness?

Michael Juster 02-08-2018 05:31 AM

Catherine, it's the title poem. Charles Martin's newest book of poetry, "Future Perfect," will be out next month from Johns Hopkins University Press.

By the way, my Twitter site (@amjuster) is social media's most active site for this kind of information on formal poetry. You can join Twitter, mark your account private, & follow me without having to deal with political rants, dancing cat memes, or sexual solicitations.

Seriously.

Seriously.

And missing out on two out of three of these is definitely worth it.

I follow Mike, and he's totally worth it. Also, whatever it's flaws, I think Twitter is a very friendly place to engage with other poets and learn news. Get it from Mike, get it from elsewhere.

Thanks, big guy.

For other friends who are eagerly awaiting Charles Martin's new book, the wait is over. Here's the Johns Hopkins University Press link, with words of welcome from Rachel Hadas, Mark Jarman, David Mason & B.H. Fairchild.

And you can find "Octaves of Another Eden" (also from the book) here...

My copy arrived last week--and of course it's great.
