Keillor Parodies in an old Atlantic (2006)

The parodies are here.

I was led there by an old thread on the Sphere here.

Worth a couple of chuckles for me.

Thanks for the link, Woody. I really enjoyed them, especially the Frost, Williams and Whitman. :)

I am a War of 1812 historian, so I took these probably more seriously than some might here. Okay, mildly amusing, but as serious takes on what those writers might have made of the subject? No, not at all. I am not impressed. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4041/...41c08c0d_o.gif

I enjoyed these, though there is a bit of telegraphing the model that goes on, which I find a bit heavy-handed. I remain a great fan of "The Star-Spangled Banner" itself:

Oh say can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
In the twilight's last gleaming?

Tremendous stuff, with a fine back story.

Cheers,
John
