Good news, bad news
 

The good news is that I've accepted an opportunity to work on a big, rewarding project that I can't wait to pour my time and energy into. (I know that that sounds mysterious, but I'll share more details when I've actually accomplished something to crow about.)

The bad news is that the time commitment will severely impact my availability as a moderator at Eratosphere.

While I'm otherwise occupied, I don't want the Moderator title to mislead anyone into asking me for help with stuff. So I've notified Alex and Jayne that I'm formally stepping down.

I'll still occasionally stick my nose in to opine on workshopped poems, but probably not more than once a month or so.

Sorry to bail on you, but I wanted to reassure everyone that it's for happy reasons, rather than because someone in my family is sick again!

It's rare that people with complete power willingly put it aside to pursue other ventures, so I commend you and can't wait to find out what opportunity was so attractive that you would relinquish an Eratosphere moderatership for it.

You've been a great Mod, and we're gonna miss you. I won't forgive you for leaving unless this mysterious new opportunity is something really important, like replacing Jeff Sessions as Attorney General. (Yeah, I know you're not a lawyer, but look at him.)

Thank you for taking the Sphere on in the first place, and thank you also for whatever other mysteriously important work you're embarking on.

I will echo the sentiments here and say what a great Mod you have been (and a bit of a Rocker too) witty, fair, and balanced. And of course you go to your new project with all the blessing imaginable.
