Poem in Westwind
 

A recent poem of mine, "Applebee's Rat Orgy," has been picked up for publication by Westwind over at UCLA for the Fall 2019 issue, which is a nice local acceptance.

Congrats Quincy. And congrats on the Dark Web thing too, which sounds very cool and about which I kept trying and failing to think of something amusing to say.

Wow, "local" indeed. I'd never heard of this venue. Looks like it's centered on UCLA's students and faculty, plus a few other area poets.

I wonder why they don't seem to want to extend their influence very far beyond the UCLA campus. Most university campus-based publications are more ambitious in terms of engaging with the outside world. (Then again, UCLA also organizes a pretty darned elitist poetry reading series at the Armand Hammer Museum, so maybe this another example of that exclusivity.)

Anyway, all the more reason to salute you, Quincy! Westwind looks like a tough nut to crack.
