Gail White Wins the Nemerov (again!)
Just heard from Bill Baer that Dick Davis has chosen Gail White's "Tourist in India" as the winner of the 2013 Howard Nemerov Award.
My sonnet, "The Watchers at Punta Ballena, Uruguay", was a finalist. KUDOS, Gail!!! :) |
Talented ladies, congrats, congrats, congrats!
|
Yay! Congratulations to you both! (and I am sure a few other friends were finalists too)
Gail: The next step is to get fitted for the Nemerov smoking jacket. An appropriate tailor will undoubtedly be in touch shortly. |
Congratulations, Gail! I look forward to reading the winning sonnet. My sonnet "Survivor" was also chosen as one of the finalists.

Congratulations to Gail! And to Cathy, Susan, and the others who'll no doubt reveal themselves before long.
My sonnet "Anthem" was also chosen as a finalist. |
Thanks to all of you, and to Catherine for posting the news before I could get to it! Looks like the sonnets have covered the world this year.
Congratulations to all finalists, and I look forward to learning who the rest of them are. (Mike, can my smoking jacket be black with gold embroidered dragons?) |
Fire-breathing dragons for sure, Gail! Congratulations!
And congratulations to the finalists as well--what a treat to (sort of) know so many, so that I can feel personally happy for you! jlk |
Congratulations, Gail.

wow, Gail, big congrats! and Cathy and Claudia and any other sphere finalists! Do we get to read these winner sonnets somewhere?
|
Huge congrats to both of you!
