The criminal cried as he dropped him down...
Kellyanne Conway has just told Fox News that she was in the room with Donald Trump when his lawyer's ghostwritten tweet about the FBI came in. To which I say:
Now though you'd have said that head was dead (For its owner dead was he), It stood on its neck, with a smile well-bred, And bowed three times to me! It was none of your impudent off-hand nods, But as humble as could be; For it clearly knew The deference due To a man of pedigree Update - here is the piece entire, from Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfIwnehelT8 I guess my point is in the closing lines of the song: This haughty youth, He speaks the truth Whenever he finds it pays: And in this case It all took place Exactly as he says! |
Rachel Maddow is pointing out that today, the President's defenders have begun arguing not that there was no collusion or obstruction, but that collusion is not criminal and the President, as Nixon put it, cannot obstruct justice. So, a big news day. The question being, who are you going to believe, the President's apologists, or your lying eyes?

Of all the lying eyes, Kellyanne Conway's lies the best.

I once had a head of department who put his arm around my shoulder, looked me in the eye, and told me "between friends" a confidence about an innocent third party that I knew to be a self-serving fabrication, in fact the opposite of the truth. Conway lies like that.
