Siham Karami on Ghazals
Most of you know that Siham is one of the best ghazal poets out there. No wonder, then, she writes so beautifully and insightfully about ghazals, in this essay in The Chained Muse.
Congratulations, Siham! |
Here's a sample of Siham's ghazal work, originally published in Swwim and now just reissued in the Orison Anthology.

Thanks so much for this, Andrew!! I was coming to post something about the Ghazal essay and the Orison Anthology, but how nice to find it already posted!! Also I wanted to mention that I published a short essay, “Faith,” in the 2019 Fall/Winter issue of Tiferet Journal. There’s no link to it, though; it’s in print. I may take a picture of it though, because it’s so short (200 words, the max for their series). But the Orison Anthology is for me a huge deal!

Really interesting article Siham! Thanks for an enjoyable read. And thanks, Andrew, for pointing this out.

Much enjoyed. Congratulations, Siham!

What a thrilling read, Siham. So much I didn't know. Really appreciate the education. I hope more ghazals are workshopped here. You already know my high opinion of your ghazals.

Thanks so much, Matt, Orwn, Erik, & Mary!!! Glad you found it informative, Matt, and that it was an “education”, Mary, you whose ghazals inspired me to write more in the form!
Happy Holidays to all! Siham |
