If this moment is about anything, it's about seeing that compromise has gotten us nowhere and that when we insist on change, we can get it.

I'm not sure how to read the emoji, but I don't appreciate the joke. You're right that if voters like you and voters like me could come together, we'd get better outcomes. But it is pig-headed to feel that therefore it's voters like me who are to blame.

The right comes together not by compromising on candidates they think can win, but by voting for what they want. When the left runs candidates that excite voters, we get presidents like Barack Obama. When we run compromise candidates, candidates who are better than the Republicans but might attract some Republican votes, we get presidents like Donald Trump. Thanks for that :)

I was trying to take the edge off it, Max. Good to see that worked. I'm not wrong about that though. When I say "compromise," I mean when your choice isn't the nominee, get over it. Especially now. My first choices were Bernie and Elizabeth. I went back and forth. Those who sat at home because they didn't like Hillary gave us Trump. I didn't like her much either, but there's no way I wanted that thing in office.

Since the article says it could actually tip the balance in the election and cause Trump to lose, I'd say it's not just the electoralists who ought to be happy but anyone who wants Trump to lose.

The protesters are the offspring of trophy kids and helicopter parents, which gives them a sense of entitlement. Self-certain and intolerant, they think they have a right to burn and loot, a right to spread the virus by close contact.

I'd like to add my "never mind" to Aaron's.

(Ah, it was there a minute ago).

I know tons of the people at the protests. Tim’s comment is ignorant bull$&@t. That is not an opinion. It is a fact. Anybody who can watch what goes down in the lives of black citizens when they are suspects and write that post just when the nation at large finally begins to see is an idiot or worse. Compromise is for how best to make change immediate. As long as that immediate priority of justice remains the criteria. No compromise with folks unmoved by the immediacy of the need. My daughter is out there tonight. Shit she has gone through at the hands of the patriarchy’s offal has left her done with your generations dithering. Morally, intellectually, and social responsibility-wise, she whip your tail. And don’t give me some ad hom lecture. He made a statement about the persons, he gets his change back in full.
