Cambridge UP
Hi folks,
The second external reader for Cambridge University Press has just recommended publication, with some understandable edits, of my draft monograph The First European: Staël, Romanticism & Revolution, 1786-1830, for their series Studies in Romanticism. I believe it will be the first non-British volume in that series. Notably, they want me to add a new introduction (I was up against a word limit before). I am hoping to see this in print by late 2022- early 2023. Cheers, John |
Woo-hoo. Cantab indeed. Congrats John.

Thanks David! I published my first academic book with them in 1994, so it feels like a circle closing. :-)

Congratulations, John :)

Thank you, Fliss! A lengthy process, as you know!

Ah, John -- circles may close, but they revolve forever. Bravo.

Thank you, Jennifer! My second year Dante paper at college said "Discuss circles in Dante," and I think your answer would have been the perfect place to start. You are quite right, circles are not necessarily static things, and that bears repeating.

Great subject - I'll want to own this one.

Thank you, Gail! It’s an overview of Stael‘s complete works, published and manuscript, and of her role in French and European politics during the Romantic period. It was significant.
