The Asses of Parnassus

A haiku of mine appears today in The Asses of Parnassus.

Kudos, cleverly concocted!

This is delightful.

Lol at the wordplay on 'ears'. Very nice (alliteration nice too).

I’m a softy for brilliant puns, and this is one, make no mistake: I love it.

I think it would be just as good in a Japanese way if there were no pun. “Indifferent ___”: grass, deer, flies, ants, etc, even groundhogs except for the syllable count.

Nice.

Congratulations, Martin; very haikool :D

Best wishes,
Fliss

Thanks, Ralph, Gail, Sarah-Jane, and Allen.

Allen, woodchucks, hedgehogs, or beetles would work, too, though I’d miss the pun, which I’m happy you like.

Sarah-Jane, thanks for mentioning the alliteration!

Good one, Ralph!

Congratulations, Martin. I’ve been working on haiku and tanka lately. They’re very challenging. Like the alliteration?

Martin Elster 07-05-2022 08:54 PM

Thanks, Fliss! (We cross-posted.)

Thanks, John! You are inspiring me to write some tanka now.

F.F. Teague 07-06-2022 03:25 AM

Yes, do write some tanka;
I'm sure we'd all thank ya!

:D
