I will try to get to the At the Inkwell reading.
But you are definitely flying over the fly-over states! RM |
Rick, I would love to see you there. Yes, there's only so much money to spend on travel so we're doing major metros. I am trying to set up a gig in Youngstown, Ohio (but don't tell Ohio that New Yorkers consider it flyover! I've been there--a proud state).
What state is round on the sides and high in the middle? Ohio. Get it? |
One friend got back to me and suggested Porter Square Books might be an avenue. I've been to prose readings there, though it had slipped my mind since I haven't been there in years.
He also suggested that you check out MassPoetry.org |
Will do, Andrew. Hmn. Porter Square--one of the famous squares of Boston. Thank you.

Another thought: perhaps the Powwows would set you up in Newburyport for a reading, which isn't too far north, and could make an easy double-dip.

Aaron, I'm consulting with my extraordinary spouse, Maryellen, and it's really likely we can do the KGB, corners or not. Maybe I'll bring a flashlight, as I recall the light away from the podium isn't strong. We might scope out DTUT beforehand too, and make it a possibility for me, at least -- if you haven't used up all your best material at the KGB. As for Sappho, we (I and thou) could fruitfully puzzle at which parent she lost while very young (according to Ovid). On δεδυκε, I'd want to agree to disagree (if we disagree) like the gentlemen we are, and together storm the walls of Troy after imbibing.

Aaron, you'd be more than welcome, Leek is a lovely place despite my flippancy. Alas, I'm pretty sure Hound of the Baskervilles was Dartmoor, down in the south of the country. And we can't claim Cathy and Heathcliff either, who were further north. But our moors are great moors. We have the best moors. (Sorry, I 'Trumped out' for a second. Been reading another thread...)

Some other Boston-based suggestions sent along to me:
Brookline Poetry Series, one sunday a month at Brookline Public LibrarySome of these overlap, obviously, with other suggestions, but I just cut and pasted her thoughts. |
Thanks to you and your friend for the list, Andrew. I will solicit all those venues. Boston 2018!
|
Aaron, I don't think my wife can come. Sorry.
