The link worked for me. Nice photo.

Stephen —

I imagine something like a mantis or daddy long legs climbing the sky.

How about the blot or whatever on the margin at the very top?

thanks guys,
those are flaws, one at very top, also two at bottom. When panning one has to be very steady and maintain a consistent slow speed, otherwise blank pixels orrur. I resized this, they don't show as bad on original. Have added that to the link.

Stephen —

The 2nd version (undistorted panoramic view) is better I think. I thought the first had been deliberately distorted for artistic effect.

But both files are small. The distorted one is 738*725, the other 738*164. I'm not asking that you post larger ones for this picture. But in the
future it might help viewers' appreciation & evaluation.

To post an image right in the thread, the code is simply the URL between opening [*img] and closing [*/img] image tags...without the asterisk. I had to put the asterisks in for the code to show as text here.

[*img]The URL of the Image[*/img]

To see it exactly, simply "edit" a post that has an image and look at the code. Don't worry, the computer will not let you accidentally change another person's post.

A good size for these forums is 700 - 800 pixels wide. Larger than that and the image stretches the whole page to accommodate it and we all end up having to scroll sideways.

Hi Stephen, thanks for posting this. Well, this is a nice shot of pretty clouds. The problem is we see millions of pretty cloud shots.

It seems to me that a significant aspect of this piece is the way you shot it by panning, but this doesn't make it's way into what I see and understand as a viewer.

I feel that what you have here is a good beginning of something interesting but it's not art yet. It's not finished, especially with the flaws remaining. I say fix them or use them. An old instructor of mine used to say "Not to design is to design by default." In other words "There's a flaw, oh well." is not enough. There's a flaw, do you like it? What will you do with it?
