ross - this is wonderful. What other programs have you tried? The reason I ask is that there's a fabulous little free program called Gimp that can do almost everything PhotoShop can do except some of the pre-press functions.

very sunsetty
funny how they called it rush-cutters... I swam there just about every day from end July to mid April for some years and never saw a rush or a cutter! like swimming in a huge bath.

Ross, i'd like this better if those boats are silhouettes too. And really better if you'll get rid of those two boats. Retain the middle one.

This looks modernist and original to my eyes. No details. The focus is on the color of sunset. The rest are dark. Very evocative of a state of mind.

Rushcutters Bay was originally full of reeds when the convicts arrived and they were used to thatch huts, all filled in now to make the park. It's a lovely area, I lived nearby for about 20 years, am glad you know it and swam there, I presume you swam on the point as the bay itself is very murky.

They are both original!!! But I did a series of paintings/drawings of boats in Sydney harbour and it shows. I'm only sorry you can't enlarge it more as it maintains its clarity in large screen format. You can see some of my work on YouTube (as I sense you are still doubtful these are done without some trick involved).

thanks guys for you comments.

Ross, my usage of "original" means unique, fresh, and raw.
