Dante's "Convivio" in paperback

My annotated bilingual edition of Dante’s Convivio, which was published in 2018 by Cambridge UP only in hardback, is finally out in paperback. It was launched this week in the UK and Europe, and will be out a bit later in the US but is already available for preorder. The price for the hard cover has been exorbitant. The paperback costs much less, though a bit steeper than the average paperback because of its size (700+ pp.).

Ambrogio Camozzi Pistoja, a Dante scholar at Harvard, wrote in a review: “Andrew Frisardi’s new book is a long-awaited gift to the world of literature and philosophy. It is a vital tool for anyone interested in the experimental vigour of one of the finest minds ever to have lived.”

The Sphere’s own Bill Carpenter wrote on Amazon: “Frisardi’s Convivio is a great opportunity for us. For years, maybe decades, we’ve seen references to the Convivio in biographical prefaces to the Divine Comedy or in footnotes. What is it? What’s it all about? It turns out to be a great prelude to the Comedy and an ideal prequel for readers who are fond of that work.”

Congratulations!

I will have to save up for that one (although I have tapped the 'I would like this as an e-book' option in a fit of hope). I might be able to get it through a University library.

(it sounds really interesting)
