Digital oil & palette knife experiment

1 Attachment(s)
Here's another ArtRage digital oil & palette knife experiment I did yesterday---but, because of computer problems, my playing around with this paint program will have to wait until repairs are made, repairs that can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days. Ain't life grand?!

Edited to add:
Someone told me this digital painting reminded them of sheer fabric. So . . . it is now called Seven Veils.

Like the depth, and the feeling. Looks like you're going to have a lot of fun with Artrage.
regards
Ross

Thanks, Ross. I'm hoping no more computer problems arise and I can get back to playing around with ArtRage. I feel like a little kid whose favorite toy has been taken away. ;)

This is interesting how it is both smooth and rough, heavy and light, delicate and coarse, solid and airy. What is going on with the area on the right? It looks like it's wanting to be more of a focal point.

The rough, heavy, coarse, and solid elements are due to the painting being done on a canvas called Stucco. A working and blending, re-working and re-blending of an over-abundance of blue, red, yellow, and white digital oil paint (with a palette knife called Knife Edge Trail) is responsible for all that turned out to be smooth, light, delicate, and airy. As for the wanna-be focal point: Now that you mention it . . . hm-m . . . could be, could be. I need to pay more attention to such things as focal point, obviously!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Sharon. I appreciate the input.

All best!

I need to check out this "ArtRage"! Meanwhile, may I recommend a cool free program called Gimp.

Sharon:
ArtRage has a free demo available at the following link:

Warning: ArtRage is addictive!

I gave Gimp a quick once-over and couldn't find anything indicating that it's a paint program. I'll take a closer look later.

Gimp isn't specifically a paint program. Still, it's pixels not actual paint anyway. They all work similarly. You can work on different "canvases" and use different brushes. There are oil paint filters as well as mosaic and so on.
