Pushcart Prize Nomination
A word of thanks to Bill Thompson, editor of Alabama Literary Review, for nominating my sonnet crown, "On Reading the 40th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury Report" (soon to appear in ALR) for a Pushcart Prize this year.
The crown, written in consonant rhyme (except for the final sonnet) recently received Honorable Mention status in the Poetry by the Sea 2019 sonnet/sonnet crown contest, judged by Marilyn Nelson. The Grand Jury Report may be downloaded HERE. The poem is not a comfortable read. Nor was it meant to be. |
Congrats, Cathy!

Congratulations, Cathy. I look forward to reading your sonnet crown. I have been amazed by how many sonnet crowns have been written recently. They used to be such a rarity, and they still strike me as being very difficult to write.
