I'd like to call your attention to Carol's "Can You Help?" thread over at Staff Announcements. Saint Alex has supported this enterprise entirely out of his own pocket, and it has grown burdensome to him. Please help as best you can.

Hail and farewell, Professor Paul. Your essays certainly provoked a lively discussion though at times I thought some of your interlocutors verged on the logorrhaeic.

Here's the upcoming roster. On March 28th our own A.M. Juster will be our next guest lariat. We shall be discussing Longing for Laura, his superb new translation of Petrarch, The Secret Language of Women, his Wilbur Prize-winning forthcoming collection, and his long and generous service to this enterprise.

In May I shall host Dick Davis, whom I esteem as the foremost poet of my generation. Dick is the finest sonneteer I know (except maybe Sam Gwynn), and his appearance will be a workshop on the sonnet. Participants will be invited to post published sonnets and discuss them with a master.

After little Dick comes BIG DICK, Wilbur, I mean. As with the Hecht appearance this will be done by typewriter and fax, so I'd like you to spare your host by keeping your questions and comments concise.
