I'm a staunch republican--God knows I am, dammit, and it just might happen in my lifetime--but it's hard not to be charmed out of my patriotism by news like this.

No one in line for the throne should be allowed to be named Autumn. Other banned names for possible queens would be Kimberly, Jennifer, Heather, Amanda, and Chelsea.

No, don't panic! Autumn is the girl Peter married, she is the mother of the little one who is, as yet, unnamed.

A thought: perhaps it's the wrong time of year to be unkind to newborn children who are predestined to a life of political difficulty.
