Fun project for Valentine's Day
Hey, folks,
Over at Via Negativa, Dave Bonta asked for audio of poems for his Woodrat Podcast. He received them from all over the world, Australia, the U.K., the U.S., India. Poets participating include Ann Drysdale, Paul Stevens, Risa Denenberg, Pat Jones, Marly Youmans, Ami Mattison, and many others, including yours truly. Since L’Hirondelle fit his theme of Platonic Love, Kate and I each did a reading, and sent both files. Dave did an interesting thing: he spliced the files together, so that Kate and I read alternating sections of the poem. The entire podcast is here (46 minutes). If you just want the four minutes of L’Hirondelle, please click here. Happy Valentine's Day, Bill |
You and Kate were great, Bill, and I thought it was a fun podcast, too. We (43 years married) began our Valentine's Day today here on the west coast listening to it over coffee...so many fine and skillfully presented platonic love poems. I had no idea I was among so many fine poets until this morning! To be included was a valentine gift to me for sure. I think this is a link to book mark, save...listen to when you can. The love the poems in it speak to, refer to all kinds of platonic love...and they are not just for Valentine's Day.

Nice, Bill, Kate!
I liked your short piece of ecological verse, Pat! A shout-out for the Brits. Ann (Drysdale)'s verse is more risqué and certainly sexier than much so-called erotic poetry. And Paul Stevens has a couple of pieces that show the 'metaphysical' tradition is alive and kicking. Duncan |
Another triumph for the literary partnership of Bill & Kate!
Congratulatons, you-all. |
