request for photo search help
 

Around Memorial Day last year [so Tim thinks, at least] a photo appeared on the internet of US [marines?] in [Afghanistan?], and on the helmet of one was stencilled Psalm 27 verse 3.

I've tried all kinds of ways to find it, and contacted a whole bunch of people who remember it but havent a clue about where or whose photo it is [natl.geo? bbc? other?]

I'd sincerely appreciate it if anyone can help on that. I think the soldiers were kind of slumped on the ground, looking exhausted [or sad? mourning a comrade].

I vaguely remember this too, but my searching on Google didn't get anywhere. It might work to query a news agency.

I was no help with the picture, but you did force me to look up the verse:

"Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident."

If you know the Psalms, you'll have a thought for every occasion.

A really tough nut to crack. The best I could turn up was a marine with a helmet with Psalm 23 on it. But it wasn't a very good picture, and I'm quite sure it's not the one you want.

yes, Petra, I was sent the pic of the helmet with part of Psalm23. Not the right one :(
