The fourth edition of my Poetry: A Pocket Anthology has just arrived from the printer. You can check it out at

I checked out the table of contents and was surprised to see that the sonnet which is David Anthony's favorite Murphy poem has been replaced by Case Notes, my mother's unfavorite Murphy poem. Sam! Murphy was born in '51, not '50! I'm not yet ready to be 54.

Congratulations, Sam! Is the new edition much changed from the previous?

To other members: I have the 2002 edition of Sam's Poetry Anthology, and it appeals enormously to students at various levels. Instead of 1,000 pages, it is 400+, a much more reasonable size to carry around. An exceptional selection of contemporary as well as classic English-language poems, it also contains an introduction, notes and appendices which make it a supremely well-organized teaching tool or simply a book to delight in personally.

Sam,
From the table of contents, this seems like the freshest anthology out there. I'm going to order it for my next workshop. Congratulations!
