Pour les flâneurs

Hey, folks,

The latest issue of StepAway Magazine, a journal for flâneurs, is up, and it has my short story "Promenade." Be sure to read James Robison's excellent short, concerning the lovely Ludmila. Also in this issue, Jeffery Alfier, Lemn Sissay, David L. O’Neal, Joan McNerney and Michelle Ward-Kantor. Cover art by Paul Baines. Darren Richard Carlaw edits.

Interesting tidbit: many online journals shy away from publishing stats, but not this one. Issue 2 was up for three months, and got 115,000 hits. Who says people don't read short fiction anymore? ;)

Thanks,

Bill

Very Nice

Yes to the dancer, indeed.

A great magazine to be in.

Bien flâné, mon brave!
Félicitations!

Terrific, Bill! I love flan. Do you have a favorite recipe?

Steve Bucknell 09-22-2011 03:28 PM

Can't resist

Was it a flan-dance?

Thanks, gents. This thread is making me hungry. Sadly, I've been placed on a strict regime of diet and exercise, so I suppose I should go for a walk. To avoid temptation... ;)

Thanks,

Bill

Neat story, Bill! And hooray for short fiction. Some lovely imagery in there... Wishing you many "profiterolles"--and good walks!

One of the things I enjoy most about all this is the unsuspected interconnections we build with the people involved. I've told this to one of my favorite editors: I'm jealous of her, since she gets to interact with all these fascinating people from all over the world. It really is a joy for her.

And it's nice to hear it sometimes works both ways. Kate just got a note from the editor of StepAway. I can't post it all, of course, but I enjoyed this paragraph:

"The power of the text! I'm heading to Nice for the first time today. I have rented an apartment just north of the Promenade des Anglais on Rue des Fleurs. It's an impromptu trip, inspired in part by Bill's story. I'll be sure to take a seat in the sunshine and read "Promenade" once again. It will be a pleasure, I'm sure. "

How cool is that? Life is good! ;)

Thanks,

Bill
