Wendy Videlock
David Rothman (a critic I respect) glowingly reviewed Wendy's book in the new Hudson Review. He is also very complimentary of Alex and Able Muse Press, so congrats to the whole team!
I'm catching up on reading over my holiday break--so apologies if this is old news! |
Yes, I read that piece! It's lovely. I only recently discovered her work and I think she's brilliant. I love her light touch and deep seriousness. Did people receive her e-mailed Christmas poem? Here attached...

Thanks for reporting, Mike. It never fails: I let my subscription to Hudson lapse and then they publish something I really, really wish I could read. Good news, and continuing congratulations to Wendy, and to Alex and team too.

Rothman has genius, too, as wendy does, which is apparent again in his hilarious and textured interview with Dave Mason in the current Able Muse.

Wendy's poems are really magical, they shift and turn and evoke. She is one of my favorite contemporaries and she deserves all the fine reviews she gets.

Thanks to Michael for the news, and to Charlotte for sharing the poem --
both are wonderful. |
I think Wendy's book is great, so I look forward to taking a look at the Hudson Review piece. Thanks for posting!

Heavens, I'm always the last to know these things. I had no idea. Thanks for the notice, Mike. It seems I have to subscribe to have a look at it...
Glad ya'll liked the holiday poem. In a moment of lapsed judgment I sent it to to my parental units who responded by saying they needed footnotes. Gaw bless the ol' What's That Supposed to Mean. Cally, the interview of which you speak is loopy and lovely and inspired. It was a really nice surprise to find this and the accompanying kind support. Warmest wishes for the new yar to all, wending |
