Lee Gurga's Haiku 21
Lee Gurga, an Eratosphere Distinguished Guest, has co-edited a new anthology of haiku with Scott Metz. Haiku 21: an anthology of contemporary English-language haiku "reveals a shift in haiku writing" and leans towards the new and experimental.
There are a number of haiku by Lee there. I was also fortunate enough to have one selected. I didn't notice any other Sphereans in my quick glance through the index, but I hope that anyone I've overlooked will pop in and identify themselves. |
Congratulations. You practice what I've often thought of as a deceptively difficult art. It must be like building a wall out of exquisite pebbles without using any mortar, to fill a book with good haiku. This one will be elbowing its way into the line to mug my next paycheck.
For some reason I couldn't figure out how to access the link to Haiku 21, so I'll re-post one here. Best, Ed |
Thanks, Edward, and congratulations!

Congratulations, Edward!

This is wonderful news, Edward! How thrilling to have a haiku selected by the great Lee! I love Lee and his work - always take his DG Master classes here on Erato, and think there is nothing more difficult in all the language arts than containing the fragile and fleeting essence of life in this microcosmic form.
I can't wait to get hold of this "new" anthology, and send you all my respect and congratulations for being included. Cally |
Congratulation Edward, well done!
