2012 Sonnet Bakeoff
 

I'm repeating the Sonnet Bakeoff announcement here, just to get your attention if you don't check "General Conversation" every day. Hoping to see sonnet entries from as many of you as possible.

It's time for sonnets to start winging to the Annual Eratosphere Sonnet Bake-Off for 2012. I'm your host for this year, and the Distinguished Guest is our own renowned poet and sportsman, Tim Murphy. Submissions are open from today through April 15. Finalists will start being posted on April 27. So start thinking in terms of 14 lines, send your entries (one per poet) to gailxpoet@cox.net, and as the Cajuns say, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"

In the eight years I screened for the judge after founding the Sonnet Bake-off, my maximum take was 128 sonnets. Let's beat that. Poor Gail.

Gail, please consider putting the announcement--or links to it--on each of the three main poetry boards. I think a lot of people don't read anywhere else. Newcomers may need more info about what a bakeoff is and how we run them.
