Sonnet Bakeoff Reminder
 

I suspect there may be some people on the Sphere who never look at anything but Drills and Amusements. So this is just to remind you that the annual Sonnet Bake-Off is now open, and you can find the details on the Sphere in 3 different places. I hope many of you will submit sonnets, even though there's no prize except the honor of getting the most votes!

Sonnet for a lazy housewife
 

If someone only looks at D and A,
they're missing out, because Eratosphere
has so much more to offer, it's quite clear.
I really love this site, I have to say,
and try to spend some time here every day,
although the house does not get cleaned, I fear.
(My husband and the children don't appear
to notice when it's spotless anyway!)

So I'll continue to ignore the dust,
the dirty kitchen floor, my unmade bed--
and search the forums. Now I really must
start thinking of a poem, though, instead,
because, dear Gail, you can depend upon it:
I will be sending you a Bake-off Sonnet.

(But not this one ;))
