Puppy and Dolphin

This is the most adorable Youtube I have ever seen:

Martin, is this Hungarian? I know from the bridges that it was probably filmed in Florida's Keys.

Martin Rocek 05-15-2012 11:10 AM

Tim,
It's a re-edit from the movie Zeus and Roxanne from 1997:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120550/
I thought that I recognized Steve Guttenberg.
The music is by Vangelis.

The clip was broadcast by RTL, a big European broadcaster.
The subtitles seem to be in Croatian. Hungarian is not a slavic
language and I can't understand a word of it.

Best,
Martin

Thanks for looking in, Martin. I was just suffering a brain fart. I meant to say Czech, not Hungarian. I was surprised at how many of the subtitles I could read, and I don't speak a word of Croatian. These are the two best performances by animals I have seen since Lassie. I want that little dog, and Alan would want the dolphin. In our years of blue water sailing we had a great deal of contact with dolphins, but we only saw them doing their aerial acrobatics once, when we were out kayaking among them in Lareto, Baja California. We actually anchored next to that dive boat, Daily Planet, one night in the Bight at Key West.

wow the things you learn here.
I never realised THE Vangelis composed for Demis Roussos!

You are wanting Hungarian subtitles now, yes!

The men are performing a Verbunkos (VERbunkos) which is an army recruiting display from the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the Franz-Josefzeit. The word verbunkos is derived from the German term 'Werbung'. The fellow in the middle is not you. You never knew about the Tisza River basin where some Tices might have come from. Now you do.

Kodály Zoltán: Háry János Suite - Intermezzo dancers. Hungarian language subtitles.

Ann Drysdale 05-16-2012 01:53 AM

Allen - you've posted that before. I know, because I saved it to "favourites" and watch it often. There is a moment at 1.57 that is truly sublime. (A-tishooooo...)

Allen Tice 05-16-2012 10:28 AM

I figured I might have done that, Ann. I can apologize if I need to.

Ann Drysdale 05-16-2012 11:15 AM

No need at all; it just means that more enlightened folk will now share our joy!

Tim Murphy 05-16-2012 01:52 PM

I hadn't seen it before, and I loved it. Thanks, Allen. The premiere danseur is awfully cute dancing with all his boyfriends.

Gail White 05-16-2012 02:29 PM

These are great videos! I've also seen pictures of cats batting dolphins and even alligatgors, but a cat will bat anything.

The dancers are great. Would you happen to know a good video of men dancing the halling (Norwegian dance where they are supposed to kick the roof beams)?
