I received two little elegies for Bouncing Betty and Bold Fenian in Gray's on Monday. Later this week I should receive a large (ninety line) poem, Feeney in Lent, in Hudson Review. Yesterday Quadrant accepted Mower's Song and two of the four poems in Ode for the Mahli Boys. Thanks to everyone who helped out with these.

That's grand, Tim, as usual ... congrats!

Congratulations on all this great news, Tim. Given your amazing recent work, I'm not at all surprised.

Congrats again, Tim. As usual, I think you have published more in the last twelve months than I have written in the last five years.

Thanks, everyone, I think these take me over 900 published or forthcoming poems, and I was only at 100 fifteen years ago. Who do I think I am, Bill Lantry? Considering that a palmist confidently predicted I'd be dead at 26, I'm pretty happy with how things are going: train Chucky, mow grass, teach high school three weeks a year, collect Social Security, and write poetry. And submit, submit, submit. Don Share took over from Chris Wiman at Poetry on Monday, so I sent him some poems. I'll let you know how I make out.
I am deeply grateful to the people at the Deep End for all the help they gave me during the last decade. |
Wonderful news, Tim!

Commonweal just arrived with "Sacraments in the Field," a poem that scandalizes conservative priests. Of course Commonweal has been scandalizing them for 80 years!
