Light Touch

I've got a thingie here labelled 'light touch' which contains three of my poems. Any of you have the slightest idea what it might be. A competition? A magazine?

Ann Drysdale 08-03-2013 06:43 AM

In what wise hast thou thy thingie? - if it's a book, open it; if it's a letter, answer it; if it's a link, post it.

Thus holpen others to help thyself.

It's one of those yellow bag things that you have on your computer. What are they called? They contain files, in this case three. I obviously put it there and labelled it. So what is it. eh?

You're describing a folder, I think. Perhaps you called it "Light Touch" because you meant to send them to Light, unless they're based on the 1952 film of that name starring Stewart Granger. Even if they are, I think you should send them to Light.

Best,

Ed

& then send them a poem that involves extensive transcription and/or adaptation of this thread, esp. the first three posts, since reading them is the hardest I've laughed all week.

"In what wise hast thou thy thingie?" may well have just become my favorite quote of all time.

Serious question John? Spectator Light Touch comp 7 August deadline?

John Whitworth 08-03-2013 08:58 AM

You got it, Jerome. It is the three things I sent for that. While others dilly-dallied and shilly-shallied you went straight to the point.

Yup. It's a folder. There's a name for what I've got which is forgetting the names of things. There's a name but I've forgotten what it is.

That you Ann for the style of thy reply.

Unless the yellow thingie was a body bag, and contained the corpses associated with a previous competition - 'Whitworth Noir'.

Brian Allgar 08-03-2013 09:07 AM

Ann, what wotteth thou of John's yellow thingies? And methinks thou hast forgot this counsel: "If it's spam, put it in a sandwich and eat it."

Michael Cantor 08-03-2013 09:24 AM

Glory be to John for yellow thingies.
